Today, my LinkedIn network crossed 12,000 connections. For some, that may simply be a LinkedIn milestone. For me, it represents something much bigger.
It represents years of conversations, businesses, people, opportunities, mistakes, reinventions, disagreements, collaborations, failures, wins and trust.
And perhaps that last word matters most.
This profile was never built as a “personal brand strategy.”
There was no carefully designed roadmap that said: At this stage, talk about this. At that stage, position yourself as that.
My LinkedIn has evolved much like my professional life has. Through experience.
Over three decades, my work has taken me across health tech, deep tech, fintech, biotech, services, real estate, hospitality, mobility and several other sectors.
The people I have worked with have been equally diverse.
I have sat across the table from the very early-stage student entrepreneur with little more than an idea, and from founders who have already built substantial businesses. I have worked alongside innovators, leadership teams, investors, family-business owners and seasoned business leaders navigating their next phase of growth.
That diversity shaped this network.
But more importantly, it shaped me.
And I haven’t shared only the successes here.
There have been times when things went spectacularly well and there have been times when they didn’t.
I have spoken publicly about some of my failures, difficult decisions, professional exits, pivots and moments when things simply did not work the way I expected them to.
Sometimes those failures even became somebody else’s content.
There were negative posts. Opinions. Judgements and yes, when you build publicly, those moments can hurt.
But something far more powerful happened alongside them.
My connections stayed.
People who had watched my journey over years didn’t suddenly judge an entire career through one difficult chapter.
They knew the work.
They knew the person.
They knew the consistency behind the brand.
Many stood by me quietly. Some reached out privately. Others supported me publicly.
That taught me something about personal branding that no algorithm ever could:
Trust built over years is stronger than noise created in a moment.
Perhaps authenticity has been my real LinkedIn strategy.
I have never wanted this page to make me look infallible. I would rather it make me credible.
There is a difference.
Credibility comes from having done the work. From being willing to say when something didn’t work. From changing your mind when experience teaches you differently. From showing up again after a setback. And from having enough conviction to stand by your work without pretending every chapter was successful.
That is also why the 12,000 matters to me.
Not because 12,000 is a large number.
But because behind that number are relationships built across years, sectors, geographies, businesses and very different stages of professional life.
Some connections became clients.
Some became collaborators.
Some opened doors.
Some challenged my thinking.
Some became friends.
And many simply remained people with whom there is mutual professional respect.
That is a network worth having.
And perhaps 12,000 is also a good moment to reintroduce myself.
Because as my journey evolved, so did my work.
Today, I work selectively with matured and funded startups, established businesses, founders and business leaders where growth is no longer merely about finding more opportunities.
It is about executing better.
Finding what is slowing the business down.
Strengthening leadership and the next line of command. Creating greater accountability. Improving commercial execution. Connecting strategy to teams, sales, marketing and outcomes.
And sometimes simply helping a founder see what becomes difficult to see when they are standing too close to their own business.
My work today spans Growth Execution Mentoring, selective advisory mandates and Fractional CMO engagements — built not from a textbook methodology, but from decades of being inside businesses and seeing what actually moves performance.
So perhaps crossing 12,000 is less an announcement and more an invitation.
If we have been connected for years but you aren’t entirely sure what I do today, maybe this is a good time to take another look.
And if our paths have crossed somewhere along these 12,000 connections, through a conversation, collaboration, disagreement, opportunity, success or even a difficult chapter — thank you for being part of the journey.
Because ultimately, a strong professional network isn’t built by collecting connections.
It is built by earning trust. One experience, one conversation and one relationship at a time.
12,000 connections.
30+ years of experience.
Many highs. A few hard lows.
And still growing.
